Linking
Tables in Microsoft Access:
SQL
SERVER NAME: SQL.DLHOST.COM
-
Bring up MS Access with a new
blank database.
-
From within the
"Tables" select "New".
- Select "Link Tables".
- Once in the "Link" Panel, go to
the "Files of Type" criteria at the bottom left of the
screen and pull down the window. Choose "ODBC Databases".
- The SQL Data Sources panel should
appear now. The Data Sources you defined should be there.
Select the Datasource you defined for your database. Click
"OK".
- The SQL Server login screen should
appear. Sign on to the DLHOST SQL server with the ID &
Password you were given to use for the DLHOST SQL server.
- You should now get the "Link
Tables" panel. Choose whichever tables from the database
you wish to use in your applications. You may select all or
individual tables.
- Click "OK". Once you click "OK",
the tables will be linked to your database in MS Access and
will appear with a globe icon next to them. This means they
are linked tables
